Well, my break is over and I am now back in my classroom, with 28 eager students who can't wait for the year to be over. Since I teach a 4/5 combo, 18 of my students will be going over to the middle school next year, and the rest will be fifth graders. I love being at home with Abby, but at times really missed the adult interaction.
Abby and I kept very busy during my break. We went to Ruben H. Fleet Science Center, Disneyland, Child's Play, the local parks, the Wild Animal Park, and of course our favorite pastime included shopping. Abby is already a shopaholic, with her favorite stores being Target, Kohl's, and Walmart (mainly because McDonald's is there).
When this school year is over I will be undertaking a whole new adventure 3rd grade. I am really excited about a new grade, and learning a new curriculum. Third grade has always held a special place in my heart as it was the grade in which I decided that I wanted to teach. I am also excited about the distraction that it will provide for me. When something is new I tend to throw myself into it, so I know this will help me with the incredibly long wait for our second child.
I am not even sure what our current timeframe looks like. Last time I spoke with someone at Holt she said it would be at least a year from when our homestudy was sent for a referral. If this is true we are looking at next April for our referral and possible bringing our baby home around September. I need to just stop counting each day and put my trust in God. I know God is leading us down this path, and I must stop trying to always control everything myself. We will be a family of four, when the time is right.
So for now I will enjoy the last month with my class, my darling daughter and wonderful husband. This weekend I hope to get my hookup for the camera so I can start posting our pictures!
