We received our first quilt square on Saturday, thank you Larry and Susan. We have decided to ask our family and friends to donate two quilt squares, a long with a good wish note to our new baby. This is an ancient tradition that they do in China, and I just fell in love with the idea, of creating a 100 good wishes quilt. I thought it would be a great project that Abby could help us with, and something we will all treasure for a long time. Some of our friends have asked what our theme is, but we don't have one since we don't know if we will be bringing home a boy or a girl. We would like the material to be meaningful to you, and of course we love the fact that all the pieces are different, because that is why quilts are so beautiful. Abby can't wait to check the mailbox, because she is very excited to see if there is another square for her brother (she is convinced we will be having a boy). This project really helps us feel as if the adoption is progressing, even if we are in the same spot on the waiting list!
